# About Caladrix Caladrix is a biopharmaceutical startup headquartered in Melbourne with a laboratory in Heidelberg that develops novel therapeutic approaches for neurodegenerative diseases. Our laboratory is located at BioLabs Heidelberg - a modern life sciences hub with access to an active community of scientists, biotechnologists, and innovators. **We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated individual to join us as soon as possible as a BTA / Biology Lab Technician (f/m/d) with a focus on drug screening, cell-based assays, and cell culture.** # Your Responsibilities - Independently establishing, planning, and conducting cell-based assays and drug screening experiments as part of our ABC transporter-focused assay development program in accordance with industry standards - Preparing and conducting experiments in accordance with SOPs, protocols, and experimental designs - Structured recording and documentation of experimental results - Collaborating on the establishment and optimization of SOPs as well as existing and future assay formats, including cell models relevant to neurodegeneration - Culturing, expanding, and performing quality controls on cell lines - Operating and working with automated pipetting systems - Critical assessment of the practical feasibility of experimental procedures, as well as proactive communication of anomalies and opportunities for improvement - Management of materials and reagents, as well as organization of day-to-day laboratory operations # Your Profile - Completed training as a BTA, biology lab technician, MTA, CTA, or comparable qualification in the natural sciences - Several years of practical experience in drug screening, cell-based assays, and cell culture - Relevant professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology, or a comparable industrial research environment - Experience working according to SOPs and quality-oriented processes - Independent, self-directed, and structured approach to work, you take responsibility for your experiments and actively contribute ideas - Strong quality awareness and a willingness to help shape processes critically - Preferred: Experience with automated pipetting systems (e.g., Hamilton, Tecan, Beckman) and/or flow cytometry (FACS) - Ability to take responsibility, initiative, and enthusiasm for a dynamic startup environment - Good written and spoken English; German is a plus. **Caladrix is building a state-ot-the-art drug discovery platform, aiming to disrupt classic small molecule development** # We offer - A key role in a science-focused startup with a clearly defined therapeutic program - The opportunity to actively shape a growing assay platform - A modern workspace at BioLabs Heidelberg with access to high-quality lab infrastructure - BioLabs offers access to community and networking events, beverages, fruits, and snacks - Short decision-making processes and direct contact with scientific leadership - Flexible work schedules, either part-time or full-time # Application We look forward to receiving your detailed application **by July 20th**, which should include a cover letter, resume, employment references, your earliest possible start date (and your desired number of hours if applying for a part-time position), and your salary expectations.
