The Opportunity
This position works out of our Neustadt, Germany or Basel, Switzerland location in our medicines business, where we are seeking a strategic and collaborative procurement leader to join our Global Procurement & Third-Party Manufacturing Organization and help shape the future of our global supply network. This is a highly visible global leadership role responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies for critical raw materials and packaging components supporting one of Abbott's most important pharmaceutical franchises.
What You'll Do
- Shape and execute global sourcing strategies for critical pharmaceutical materials and suppliers.
- Build strategic supplier partnerships and lead complex commercial negotiations.
- Drive supply security, risk management, and sustainable cost optimization.
- Partner with senior leaders across Abbott to deliver business and operational objectives.
- Influence decision-making through market intelligence, business insights, and data-driven recommendations.
- Lead high-impact procurement transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Champion a culture of collaboration, compliance, innovation, and operational excellence across the supplier network.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field
- Significant experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or supplier management within a regulated industry
- Experience leading complex supplier negotiations and managing strategic supplier relationships
- Demonstrated success influencing senior stakeholders in a global matrix environment
- Strong business acumen with experience balancing commercial, operational, quality, and regulatory priorities
- Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, or manufacturing environments
- Experience managing global categories and international supplier networks
- Professional fluency in English
