In order to support “Combat Electronic Warfare Ground Support Solutions”, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a
Systems Engineer (d/f/m) - RF Threat Environment Simulation
We are seeking a highly motivated engineer to join our interdisciplinary field of Ground Support Systems. We are an international Team within the Mission Systems center of competence. We are responsible for developing and maintaining modern ground support systems for the A400M, Eurofighter and Tornado platforms at the Manching site in Germany.
Our products enable preparation, test and evaluation of mission data libraries before being uploaded to the aircraft, especially in the context of electronic warfare, defensive aids and electronic combat.
The job holder will become part of an agile team developing state-of-the-art EW (Electronic Warfare) mission data validation system for the aforementioned platforms for international clients.

Your tasks and responsibilities
To contribute to develop, to design, to test, to qualify, to support, to improve sub-system, during the whole implementation phase (including responsibility for integration, verification and validation) by writing the adequate technical documents (specifications, functional descriptions, test analysis, etc.).
Following supplied customer requirements for system development.
Perform requirements definition, interface definition and system design activities to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications for RF Threat Simulator.
Support test’s evaluation of system performance in the lab. Operate the system and test equipment to evaluate functional and RF performance against requirements.
Support technical lead in customer management at design and program management reviews, and with all system development critical decisions
Support the management of manufacturers for developing, testing and delivery of quality products that meet the requirements.
Review system design documentation, procedures, user manuals, training materials, and other technical publications for technical accuracy and completeness.
Generate acceptance documentation, e.g., Acceptance Test Plans, Acceptance Test Procedures, based on system/subsystem designs
Desired skills and qualifications
Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics or other related Engineering disciplines
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a related field
Must be able to demonstrate proven capabilities in the area of Systems Engineering
Working knowledge of one of more of the following specialty areas related to EW simulation, self-defensive systems, radar system, RF threat modelling and mission data systems.
Experience with using different test equipment, i.e. oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, RF signal generator
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Ability to follow test and manufacturing procedures
Understanding of RF propagation modeling, wave theory, radar waveforms, antenna design, and RF chain analysis.
Working knowledge with engineering tools such as DOORS
Familiarity with Atlassian software development and collaboration tool set (Jira and Confluence)
Strong team player with independent working methods and high quality awareness
Language skills: business fluent in English and German is an advantage
