Intern/Working Student Procurement & Logistics

Marvelfusion Munich, Germany Today
German requiredSalary not specified

Job description

Who we are

Founded in 2019, Marvel Fusion is Europe’s leading fusion energy company, uniting 120 scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs across our locations in Munich and Colorado.

Backed by over €385 million in public and private funding, we’re driven by a shared mission: to deliver clean, abundant energy to the world.

Why Marvel Fusion

By joining us, you will be:

  • Solving one of the most complex technological challenges known to humanity, harnessing Fusion on Earth
  • Part of a highly purpose-driven team working on providing the world with clean, safe and abundant energy
  • Working alongside world-leading scientists and entrepreneurs in the field of Fusion
  • Part of a start-up where growth on a company and individual level is the default

The impact you will make

Without student support, operational routine tasks such as order tracking, quote collection, master data maintenance and application testing remain with the procurement managers. This ties up senior capacity that is needed for strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations and the support of experimental projects. As order volumes grow and logistics become more complex with the move to multiple sites, we expect longer order cycle times, gaps in master data quality and incomplete audit documentation. The latter is a direct risk for IPO readiness. Process digitalization (e.g. the Marvelous Request Center) would also progress more slowly, as there is no capacity for testing and documentation.

Your responsibilities

  • You will support our procurement team in day-to-day operations, preparing purchase orders in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and tracking order confirmations & delivery dates and act as a point of contact for internal requesters.
  • You will request quotes, prepare offer comparisons and research new suppliers, especially for technical components in optics, lasers and lab equipment.
  • You will help keep our supplier and master data clean and complete, including trade compliance data such as HS codes and country of origin.
  • You will be involved in implementing AI applications and testing changes of our tools (Marvelous Request Center), and document processes and work instructions.
  • You will support goods receipt and internal distribution across our sites and help resolve delivery issues.
  • You will run spend analyses and prepare the results for management.

What you bring

  • You are studying Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or a comparable program.
  • Ideally, you have gained first experience in procurement, supply chain or finance, e.g. through an internship or working student position.
  • You work with a high level of diligence, quality awareness and independence, and take ownership of data quality and documentation.
  • You are cost-conscious and bring a can-do attitude.
  • You are curious about technical products and enjoy understanding what our engineers actually need.
  • You work in a team-oriented and communicative way.
  • You are proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint; experience with ERP systems (ideally Business Central), or AI tools is a plus.
  • You communicate confidently in German and English, both in writing and on the phone.
  • You are available for at least six months, ideally twelve, for 16–20 hours per week during the semester.
