Job description
#### Your Tasks
- Your focus will be the engineering consultancy, technical risk mitigation and assurance concerning materials and processes applied in the next generations of Space systems
- Join an international team responsible for the assessment of material and process suitability regarding their application in the space environment
- Review and evaluate manufacturing, inspection and test methods and procedures for building and qualifying space equipment and systems
- You will be part of the technical support teams in case of non-conformances or proposal evaluation
- You will regularly take part in or conduct technical reviews regarding materials and processes for the building blocks of future, smart space solutions
- Share extensive expertise in the field of Materials and Processes across the organization
#### Your Qualifications
- Phd/Master in Materials science, Production Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical engineering, Physics, Chemistry or a comparable qualification
- Several years’ experience in the area of Materials and Processes Control (MMPP) in Space applications including SMT
Knowledge of the applicable ECSS-ST-Q-70 standards
- Solid expertise in Metallurgy and welding technology
- Experience in soldering, brazing or manufacturing processes are a clear advantage
- Interdisciplinary mindset, independent and forward-looking way of working
- Flexibility, a high sense of responsibility, as well as the ability to work in an international team
- Confident personality and good negotiation skills
- Willingness to travel on business
- Fluent English and good ability to communicate in German.

**Optional Skills**
- Experience in Fracture mechanics, Quality Assurance, or Product Assurance in the space industry
- Expertise in PCB technologies, corrosion or advanced manufacturing, e.g. EDM

- Inspector Certificate for ECSS-Q-ST-70-61
- Welding engineer (IWE) or comparable
